Get California Learners Permit Online To Complete Your California Driving Education Requirement
It used to be, once upon a time, that teens who wanted to get their California drivers permit faced a difficult decision. Would they be able to give up some extra-curricular activities to make time for driver’s ed? Would getting a good California driving education mean that they had to use up all the favors their friends and family had to offer, just to find a ride to and from the class? Nowadays, there’s no need for concern. Teens today can have it all, because in California, they can take their driver’s ed class right from the comfort of their own homes.
The state of California has determined that the coursework needed to earn a California learners permit does not need to be taught by a live instructor in a classroom setting. The information imparted in the course can be conveyed over a web-based alternative with comparable effectiveness. For this reason, many schools have been launched to provide an online California driving education to teens, with varying levels of success.
These California drivers permit courses are generally web-based, so that the student does not need to download and install a course on one computer. Instead, they can go from computer to computer, logging in with a unique account on the provider’s web site from any computer they like. These courses are self-paced, meaning that the student does not log in at a specific time and chat with other students, but instead accesses their own copy of the material, which they can move through at whatever pace they prefer.
The teen driving classes often contain more than pages of text – they are designed to make the learning experience an interesting one even for those with short attention spans. Classes may include videos or animations along with the written word, and can have dynamic charts and quizzes to enhance learning.
Finding an approved school that teaches driving over the web is relatively simple. After a web search, there should be many different options, especially in California, for online schools. The way to differentiate these schools from one another is to find the elements that are important to both parent and student, and use these to select the school that makes the most sense for each individual.
For example, some schools break the material into smaller sections but have more of them. Others have fewer units of study but go more in-depth with them. Some of the providers include a great deal of color, sound, and action in their courses, while others are more uncluttered and calm. The temperament of the student taking the course can guide the decision.
One perk to look for when selecting an online school is the availability of customer support personnel to answer questions and address concerns. If there is no way to get a question answered through the weekend, the convenience of being able to access the course on the weekend goes away. Regardless of the school chosen, though, completion of an approved course will result in a teen being one step closer to getting their license!

Understanding The Law In Tx And Driver Responsibility
Texas Driving and Traffic Laws
Fort Worth attorney, Todd Smith in order to help interested individuals understand some of the aspects of state law, discusses Texas traffic laws and driver responsibility. To be fully up to date on the complete aspects and penalties of driving laws, you can refer to the current Texas DVM Driving Handbook which is available in print and on the DMV website.
Texas laws address education, responsibility, no fault, liability, negligence and other issues. If you have been involved in an auto accident, seek the legal advice of an automobile accident attorney in Fort Worth as soon as possible afterwards.
There are several areas of law regarding driver responsibility, driving and vehicles, in general.
Vehicles
• Normally, the owner of the vehicle bears the responsibility for any mishaps involving that vehicle, providing the driver; if it is one other than the owner has permission to operate the vehicle. (Tip – do not leave your keys in your un-occupied car!)
• Included in owner/driver responsibility is the requirement for proper registration, financial responsibility (insurance coverage) and adequate maintenance of the vehicle for safe driving. (Tip – be aware of state laws regulating minimum coverage.)
In Texas, vehicles may not be modified in a way that reflectors, lights or emblems change the color of license plates or make the numbers or state name difficult to read or hidden.
• There are numerous regulations about vehicle equipment, one of which is that video screens must not be positioned in view of the driver. Check the official DMV site for a complete list.
Driver Responsibility
• Drivers are required to be in possession of their valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance.
• Law requires the use of seat belts and child restraints.
• The Texas Driver Responsibility Law uses a point system as consequence for various violations, including: excessive speeding (more than 10% over the posted speed limit), Child Safety Seat violations and moving violations that result in a vehicle crash. Points will remain on a driver’s record for three years. In addition, the Department of Public Safety may assess a surcharge.
Driving While Intoxicated
• There are penalties for driving with a blood alcohol content of .08. (Lower, if you are a young driver or if you are impaired due to intoxication by alcohol or other drugs) These penalties include a progressive system with monetary fines, jail time, license suspension and possible requirement to install ignition interlock device at your own expense and also, community service.
• The law also restricts drivers or passengers from having open containers of alcoholic beverages in the car with them.
Graduated Driver License Program for Teens
• This is a multi-phased program for teens beginning at age 15 until after their 18th birthday. This program details instruction permit, driving instruction, tests and other requirements for teen drivers.
Accident Reporting
• The law requires accident reporting either by a police officer at the scene of the accident or by the driver(s) involved by completing the State Crash Report within ten days of the accident.

Teen Driving
If you’re a parent, you should be wary once your kids start to think of driving. After all, these are the people who will likely get into a very dangerous vehicular accident than adults and even seniors. But it doesn’t mean you should stop your kids from doing so. What you can do is to take note of these safety measures about teen driving:
1. Show him how it’s done. As they say, the best teacher will always be experience. If you want to teach your kids the right way to driving, then you have to let him experience it with you. When you’re going to a mall or traveling on a vacation, allow him to sit beside you. Obey traffic rules and don’t go over speed limits. Learn to respect other vehicles and pedestrians. Most of all, avoid talking on the phone.
2. Enroll him in a reputable driving school. There are just some things that you can’t possibly teach him. Thus, it’s highly ideal if you can enroll your teen to a well-established driving school in your area. Majority of these schools don’t only have lectures about how to drive safely and the proper ways to deal with accidents, but they will also experience simulated driving. There shall also be examinations to test their knowledge and readiness in driving their car out on the streets. If you want him to get the most out of his training course, you may pick those schools that also have defense driving training. These are courses wherein facilitators teach students how to deal with harsh weather conditions and vehicular accidents.
3. Avoid letting him drive at night or when in parties. As much as possible, you should put limit in his driving time. Don’t let him drive at nighttime, especially when he’s out with his friends or attending a party. There’s a huge possibility that he’s on a drinking booze, and if he is, he’ll likely meet an accident, if not, get arrested for DUI. He may also be influenced by his friends to go speed racing, which will surely place your kids in grave danger. It’s even ideal that you’ll be the one to pick your children after their drinking session, to ensure that no one gets to drive a vehicle drunk. Definitely, your teen will understand this setup if you can just be objective and open about it.
4. Let him drive. He will never learn unless he drives. Thus, permit him to drive the car, while an expert, perhaps you, sits beside him. This way, he’ll be conscious with his driving ways. You can also provide him feedback, which he definitely needs from time to time. You can both look for a place where there are less or even no vehicles around, so all of the road will be yours.
5. Always remind him to wear his seatbelts. Majority of the injuries happen because drivers are not wearing their seatbelts. Your children may not fully understand why you have to keep on repeating things to them, but if it’s the only way to make sure that he stays safe, then do it.

ABC of Getting an International Driver Permit
An International Driver Permit, or IDP, is a license that allows you to drive a private vehicle in a foreign country. The IDP must be accompanied by the valid license of your country. The IDP is slightly larger than a passport and it has vital statistics and your photograph. It is important to have this license if you are a United States citizen because a U.S. driver license is only acceptable in Canada and western European countries. If you do not have an IDP, you will not get auto insurance in any foreign country. The first step in obtaining an international driver permit is to renew your license. This is because you must have a valid U.S. driver license to get an IDP and it means you have to fulfill all the requirements for driving in the United States. You should check the expiration date of your U.S. driver license to make sure it will be valid for the duration of your trip.
Next, get two passport-size photos. You should make sure they are the right dimensions because the issuer of the IDP will not accept photos that are not the right size. Apply with either of the two agencies authorized by the US Department of State to issue IDPs. You should be aware of scams – individuals or companies claiming that they can get you an IDP are just after your money. The only two agencies you can get an IDP from are the American Automobile Touring Alliance and the AAA or the American Automobile Association. Note that you can make the application online. Online applications are advantageous because of convenience since you do not have to leave your home or office and because you can apply whenever you want, anonymity since all communication and transactions are online, and cost benefits because you do not need to travel.
In the application, you will be required to give personal information and details of your travel such as the length of you stay. After you have applied, contact the agency for details on permit fees. After this, visit the local offices to make the payment and to collect the permit. The combination of a U.S. driver license and an IDP will allow you drive in 150 countries. You should research on whether the country you are visiting is among these 150 countries and if it is not, research on what the country requires you to drive there. You should note that in most countries, the age limit for having a driver license is 18 years. Since the age limit in the United States is 16, this means even if you fulfill all other requirements for getting an International Driver Permit and you are given the permit by the AAA or the American Automobile Touring Alliance, you may still not qualify to drive in the country.
However, even with an IDP, you should note that wherever you are, driving is a responsibility and a privilege. You should therefore study the traffic rules and regulations of the country you are visiting because some are very different from U.S. rules and regulations, such as driving on the left side of the road in some countries.
