Independent driving: new element of driving test- feasibility and information

Independent driving element in driving test will come in effect from Oct 2010.

What is an independent cheapest viagra prices

” href=”http://www.theory-test.co.uk” title=”Online”>driving test:

Independent driving is tasking the candidate to drive for approximately 10 mins either following a series of directions, following traffic signs, or a combination of both.

Independent driving is when the learner get out on the road He/She will be driving alone and they need to know how to drive safely. Simultaneously it is very important for a learner to look at the signs at the time of driving because that’s in normal life what the learners are going to do. It actually puts theory test and practical test together. It makes you think about the signs, makes you think independently and makes you feel much more confident.

Why independent driving will be introduced:

“The feasibility of introducing independent driving into the GB driving test” was studied and according to it, there are few situations which demand this element in driving test.

Statistics on the accident risk of new drivers shows that after passing their test they are at their peak in terms of their risk of having an accident. A number of reviews have concluded that traditional driver training does not seem to have any positive effect on road safety in terms of accident reductions.

One interpretation of these findings is that the experience gained by drivers after passing their test is completely unlike the experience they gain Pre-Test. Findings from qualitative research on the perceptions of new drivers seems to support this; in focus groups learner drivers expressed their belief that ‘real driving’ is fundamentally different from the training required to pass the driving test.

A number of authors have suggested however that driver training should not only focus on vehicle control skills but also on factors that have been shown to be related to accident reductions, according to the research evidence. This includes higher perceptual skills such as

Hazard perception
Safer attitudes towards risk
Better self-awareness of one’s driving ability.

Post-Test experience seems crucial for reducing accident liability, it is theoretically possible that if the relevant elements of post-test experience can be identified and trained pre-test then driver training may be better placed that it is currently to reduce post-test accident risk. An existing example of this approach in GB driver training is the introduction of a video-based measure of hazard perception skill in 2002 as part of the driving theory test.

Once learner passes the test, the thing they struggle to deal with is not having the person sitting next to them to guide them around when they need it. Sudden introduction of the extra elements of having to read traffic signs, road markings, or possibly having passengers or music in the car, made it more difficult for learner.

Possible solutions for safer new drivers may be a –

Tracker fitted to their vehicle to monitor speed
Vehicle handling
Maybe reducing insurance costs
Limit passengers
Plates compulsory
Limit engine size
40 hours supervised driving
Compulsory pass plus or motorway driving.

All for the first 2 years they are insured, not from when the test is passed.

Independent driving test examination:

On the independent driving test you have to do two maneuvers. However, when the new test starts, you may only have to do ONE maneuver. The test duration may also be increased to allow extra time for Independent Driving, and this will result in an increase in the test fee. You will still need to practice all the maneuvers because the Examiner on the day will decide which one you should do.

The whole thrust of independent driving is to prepare yourself for the real world.

Drivers Ed Online Course is just one of

those things that we all have to take if we ever want to become licensed drivers. For me, getting my driver’s license was a very important thing, so I wanted to get it as quickly as possible. I already knew that the state of Nevada, texas, California has certain requirements that you must fulfill before getting your license, but that does not mean I was excited about them.

The state of Nevada requires that every new driver complete a certain amount of classroom training before being eligible for their learner’s permit or license. I already spend so much of my time in a classroom, so the thought of having to do anymore was awful. This is why I took a Nevada Online Driver Education course; I never even had to leave my house to do it.

This Drivers Ed Online course was so easy to use and it was incredibly convenient. One great thing about it was that my parents loved it too because it was state-approved. So, they got their approval and I got to take a online driver education course on my terms. I only had to work on it if I wanted to and there was no one else telling me what to do. As I see it, this course is the only option if you want to become a licensed driver as soon as possible. The process is so great that you can even sign up and start the course all in the same day!

Is Your Teen Driving?

Safety Tips and Auto Coverage For Your Teenage Driver

Car crashes remain the leading cause of teen deaths (16 to 20 year-olds) in the United States.

Of all age groups, teenagers are most likely to be i

generic cialis uk

nvolved in a fatal car accident. Statistically, drivers aged 16 to 19-years-old are about four times more likely to be involved in an auto accident than any other age group. The risk of a Crash is much higher during the first year your teenager is able to drive.

Of all cities in the United States, Atlanta is consistently rated as one of the worst U.S. cities for traffic and auto accidents.

Duluth, Lawrenceville, Norcross and other surrounding areas in the Atlanta area are the most dangerous places to drive. The “Traffic Crash Profiles for the Atlanta Region” report estimates that a traffic accident takes place every 2.8 minutes.

Protect your teenager and help make the streets safer for everyone!

Sign your teen up for Driver’s Ed
If your teen is 16 a state approved driver education course is required to obtain a Class D license. As part of their course they must complete a total of 40 hours of supervised driving, 6 hours of which must be at night. 16 year-olds need a certificate of completion from the driver education school in order to apply for a Class D Driver’s License. For some reason, 17 year olds are exempt from completing a driver education course. But it’s a good idea to sign them up anyway if they are first-time drivers. Not only do most Drivers Ed classes to a good of scaring the wits out of eager new drivers, but they can also qualify you for a discount on your Georgia auto insurance.

Spend time driving with your teenager
The more practice your teen has behind the wheel under your supervision, the better. (This is of course, assuming that you are a safe driver.) It can be hard to give your kid the keys, but get into the habit of letting your teen drive you around. Start with small, local trips to the grocery store around Duluth or Lawrenceville, then work your way to the bigger highways. It’s not a bad idea to conquer I-85 at an “off-time” like in the middle of the night on a weekday. That way, they get experience driving in the dark as well as on a big expressway.

Establish trust and make an agreement with your teenager
On any given weekend evening, one in 10 drivers on America’s roads has been drinking. According to the Georgia State Highway Patrol, Over half of high school seniors (58%) admit to being drunk at least once. No matter how responsible or educated your teenager is, there is a very high chance that they will ride in a car with another teen who is involved with alcohol. Establish a “contract” in which your teen agrees to call you before getting into someone else’s’ car who has been drinking. Wouldn’t you prefer to pick up your teenager from a party than from the hospital?

Get the right auto insurance coverage for your teenager
The average auto insurance rate for teenage drivers will increase your total premium. Be sure to speak with your insurance agent about the kind of coverage and deductibles you may want to add with your teen driver. Don’t forget about discounts offered by many carriers for teens with driver’s education certificates and good grades. Also, consider the type of vehicle your teen will be driving. While your 16-year old may have a convertible Mini Cooper in mind for his birthday, it is not the safest car or the most economical to insure.

Ways to pass driving test

Driving test:

There are two parts of driving theory test i.e. multiple-choice test and the hazard perception test. Both must be passed in the same attempt to get th

eory test certificate. Once you clear driving theory test then only you will be able to appear for driving practical test.

Multiple choice test is the first part of driving theory test which consist of 50 questions out of which you need to answer 43 questions right and the time limit is 57 minutes. You can also go for a practice session of the multiple choice questions to get used to the layout of the test. At the end of the practice session the real test will begin. This session is being designed to test your understanding of the theory behind driving.

Hazard perception test is the second part of driving theory test in which you will be shown 14 clips of 1 minute each having 15 hazards in all (1 clip will have 2 hazards respectively). Once you are done with hazard perception test you’ll be invited to answer few customer survey questions. This session is designed to test your alertness of potential hazards whilst driving.

Unlike multiple choice questions, for the hazard perception test there are no separate versions for different vehicles e.g. car, bike, heavy vehicle etc, each vehicle category takes the same test, however the pass mark is different for different categories of tests.

If you pass one part and fail the other you will fail the whole driving theory test, and need to attempt for both the test again.

4. Why hazard perception clips so important in driving theory test

Hazard perception test has been introduced in the driving theory test since new drivers are irrationally involved in accidents, mostly in the first months after passing a driving test. It has been demonstrated that drivers who have taken hazard perception test training have much better hazard test skills.

Hazard perception clips plays a very vital role as it reduces number of deaths on the roads. While driving there are some hazards driver has to look such as huge vehicles moving over to your side of the road, loose pets and farmyard animals, changes in the traffic movement and volume, junctions and roundabouts, horse riders, weather conditions of the day, road surfaces, parked vehicles, hidden junctions and turns.

A driver has to face all this obstacles and make his own way. It is a process where examinee will be shown 14 clips out of which there will be 15 hazards.

Teen Driving – The Worst States

Even though teens are at higher risk of injury or death in motor vehicle collisions than nearly every single other age group no matter what component of the country they’re in, where teens live can also have an impact on their risk, according to separate studies conducted by Allstate Insurance Organization and Reader’s Digest. Motor vehicle crashes are the number one killer of American teens, and each year, according to the National Highway Visitors Safety Administration (NHTSA), additional than 5,000 men and women aged 16-20 are killed in passenger vehicle crashes.

The Allstate study used federal crash statistics, company claims data on teen motor vehicle crashes, and statistics from the US Census Bureau to list the ten most dangerous cities from the 50 largest metropolitan areas in the United States. The results revealed that the most risky cities for teens are located in the South, with the top 3 in Florida. Of the top 50 cities in the country for teen fatality crashes, Tampa/St. Petersburg/Clearwater, Orlando/Kissimmee, and Jacksonville rank number 1, two and three, respectively.

The Reader’s Digest study uses a distinct classification approach, ranking all 50 states based on existing Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL), safety belt, and Driving Under the Influence (DUI) laws. The report listed Alaska, California and Delaware as the top 3, and North Dakota, Mississippi and Arkansas as three of the worst. Florida is categorized as “Fair,” the next-to-lowest ranking. Interestingly, California cities also scored high in the Allstate study: Numbers one, two and four had been San Francisco/Oakland, San Jose, and Los Angeles.

Factors that contribute to teen motor vehicle crashes contain:

Speeding/driving too quick for conditions
Driver distraction, such as cell phone use and dealing with passengers
Inexperience
Driving at night
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (including prescription and over-the-counter drugs)

Teens also normally neglect to wear their seat belts, increasing the risk of serious injury or death in a crash. An observational study by the Utah Department of Well being found that the teen seat belt use rate falls when other high-risk factors are present, such as when teens drive under the influence of alcohol, drive at night, have multiple teen passengers, or are driving without a driver’s license.

The risk elements listed above, which includes seat belt requirements, are addressed by GDL laws in several states. GDL laws set standards that underage drivers need to meet just before proceeding from one stage of licensure to the next. In the 1980s, 90% of high schools taught driver’s education; in 2009, only 20% do. This means that teens get the majority of their driver education from their parents and are subject only to state requirements when becoming licensed, making GDL laws of ever-growing importance in lowering teen crash rates.

Whilst a national model for GDL laws has existed since the mid-1990s, no state follows all of the requirements. To show the disparities among states, The National Safety Commission (TNSC) analyzed the GDL laws in four states: California, Florida, Mississippi, and North Dakota. The study showed that:

In California, the minimum age for a drivers permit is 15 years, six months; in Florida and Mississippi, the minimum age is 15. The minimum age in North Dakota is 14.
Although California and Florida each require 50 hours of practice driving with a parent or guardian in the learner’s permit stage, 10 hours of which have to be at night, neither Mississippi nor North Dakota need parental certification of any driving practice hours.
North Dakota does not have any passenger or nighttime restrictions, and Florida and Mississippi have only nighttime restrictions. California’s passenger restriction is that for the initial 12 months, the restricted driver could have no passengers younger than 20, with limited exceptions for immediate family.

The Reader’s Digest study indicated that stricter GDL laws usually result in lower teen fatality rates, and a study by Johns Hopkins University discovered that comprehensive GDL laws decrease fatalities among 16-year-old drivers by 38 percent.

Understanding DWI Laws in Houston, Texas

There was a time when DWI was considered a minor offense, but cultural changes have turned it into a serious charge. Residents arrested for driving drunk, DWI in Houston  can face serious repercussions, ranging from fines on up to time in prison depending on circumstances. The good news is that even though you are charged with Driving While Intoxicated, you are not guilty, and there are a variety of defenses available that can lead to dropped charges or acquittal. You will never know what your options is until you contact an attorney for a free consultation. Here’s what you should know about DWI laws in Texas.

Driving While Intoxicated is defined as operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. If the police can prove any drug use, they can charge you with Driving While Intoxicated, and any blood alcohol level over .08 is illegal. If you are operating a commercial vehicle the alcohol level is actually lowered to .04. Minors under the age of 21 face strict zero tolerance laws-any detectable amount of alcohol, even a scent on their breath, will cause them to be charged with Driving Under the Influence. In many states DUI is similar to DWI with slightly different standards of proof, but in Texas DUI is exclusively used to charge minors for driving with any amount of alcohol in their system. If you cause an accident while driving drunk, your penalties can increase dramatically, and any injury is charged as intoxication assault, any deaths can result in up to 20 years in prison.

In general, your first drunk driving charge is treated as a Class B misdemeanor. While this may sound like a minor charge, it is punishable by up to six months in the Harris County jail if you are arrested in Houston Texas or a ,000 fine. Furthermore, as a result of attempts to discourage drinking and driving, drunk driving charges face additional “surcharges” which can mean up to ,000 a year for three years for your first offense. Your second drunk driving charge is a Class A misdemeanor, which carries penalties of up to a year in jail, and the surcharges rise to ,500 a year for three years. In all of these cases probation is likely-you will be required to pay court fees, attend a drunk driving education course, perform up to 100 or 200 hours of community service and perhaps attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings or rehab. You will also likely have your license suspended for six months.

Your third drunk driving charge is a Third Degree felony, which carries a penalty of at least two years in prison (up to 10 years), a ,000 fine plus the surcharges and a license suspension of up to two years. Any charge incurred while a minor under 15 was in the car is a felony, and your second arrest will require a breath-testing ignition lock be installed on your car as a condition of bail. These are serious consequences, and you need a lawyer to protect your interests.

An attorney can prevent a DWI from ruining your life, and might even be able to get the charges dropped. Some of the tests developed to test blood alcohol level are less than reliable, but you cannot challenge these in court unless you have an effective lawyer with experience defending these cases in Houston Texas.
